Before You Start

Measure the cherries and water and have a mug and a small strainer ready.

How To Make It
  1. Warm the tart cherries and water in a small pot over low heat, 3 to 4 minutes, until steaming but not boiling.
  2. Press the cherries gently with a spoon as they soften, 1 to 2 minutes, until the liquid turns rosy.
  3. Strain the warm liquid into a mug.
  4. Stir in the honey and a pinch of cinnamon, and sip it slowly before bed.
Fix It: If it tastes too tart, stir in a little more honey until it is soothing and just sweet enough.
Microwave
  1. Add the ingredients you would cook together to a microwave safe bowl along with their liquid.
  2. Cover loosely and microwave in one minute bursts, stirring between each, until hot through.
  3. Let it stand for a minute, then finish and plate the dish as written in the steps above.
