Before You Start

Bring a small pot of water to a boil and have a colander in the sink.

How To Make It
  1. Steam or boil the edamame 4 to 5 minutes, until the pods are bright green and a bean pops out tender.
  2. Drain well and tip into a bowl.
  3. Sprinkle with the sesame seed and a little salt.
  4. Toss with the cilantro and serve warm or cool.
Fix It: If the pods taste bland, salt them while they are still hot and damp so the salt clings.
Microwave
  1. Add the ingredients you would cook together to a microwave safe bowl along with their liquid.
  2. Cover loosely and microwave in one minute bursts, stirring between each, until hot through.
  3. Let it stand for a minute, then finish and plate the dish as written in the steps above.
